Tifariti in the Sahara desert is the most recent phase of the TEXTUM project. Pilar Millán went to the refugee camp to record sound and images. When she left her friend Muyeb gave her a present: a melhfa, a long piece of thin cotton dyed in bright colours that African women use to cover their heads and bodies. Millán used the fabric to make a sculpture, Melhfa (201 velos), 2015. She covered small wooden blocks with the melhfa fabric, along with a measurement: the value of a gift.
